17：24明哲人眼前有智慧。愚昧人眼望地极。
Wisdom is before him that hath understanding； but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth。
17：25愚昧子使父亲愁烦，使母亲忧苦。
A foolish son is a grief to his father； and bitterness to her that bare him。
17：26判罚义人为不善。责打君子为不义。
Also to punish the just is not good； nor to strike princes for equity。
17：27寡少言语的有知识。性情温良的有聪明。
He that hath knowledge spareth his words： and a man of understanding is of an excellent spirit。
17：28愚昧人若静默不言，也可算为智慧。闭口不说，也可算为聪明。
Even a fool； when he holdeth his peace； is counted wise： and he that shutteth his lips is esteemed a man of understanding。

18：1与众寡合的，独自寻求心愿，并恼恨一切真智慧。
Through desire a man； having separated himself； seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom。
18：2愚昧人不喜爱明哲，只喜爱显露心意。
A fool hath no delight in understanding； but that his heart may discover itself。
18：3恶人来，藐视随来。羞耻到，辱骂同到。
When the wicked eth； then eth also contempt； and with ignominy reproach。
18：4人口中的言语，如同深水。智慧的泉源，好像涌流的河水。
The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters； and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook。
18：5瞻徇恶人的情面，偏断义人的案件，都为不善。
It is not good to accept the person of the wicked； to overthrow the righteous in judgment。
18：6愚昧人张嘴启争端，开口招鞭打。
A fool's lips enter into contention； and his mouth calleth for strokes。
18：7愚昧人的口，自取败坏。他的嘴，是他生命的网罗。
A fool's mouth is his destruction； and his lips are the snare of his soul。
18：8传舌人的言语，如同美食，深入人的心腹。
The words of a talebearer are as wounds； and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly。
18：9作工懈怠的，与浪费人为弟兄。
He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster。
18：10耶和华的名，是坚固台。义人奔入，便得安稳。
The name of the LORD is a strong tower： the righteous runneth into it； and is safe。
18：11富足人的财物，是他的坚城，在他心想，犹如高墙。
The rich man's wealth is his strong city； and as an high wall in his own conceit。
18：12败坏之先，人心骄傲。尊荣以前，必有谦卑。
Before destruction the heart of man is haughty； and before honour is humility。
18：13未曾听完先回答的，便是他的愚昧，和羞辱。
He that answereth a matter before he heareth it； it is folly and shame unto him。
18：14人有疾病，心能忍耐。心灵忧伤，谁能承当呢。
The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity； but a wounded spirit who can bear？
18：15聪明人的心得知识。智慧人的耳求知识。
The heart of the prudent getteth knowledge； and the ear of the wise seeketh knowledge。
18：16人的礼物，为他开路，引他到高位的人面前。
A man's gift maketh room for him； and bringeth him before great men。
18：17先诉情由的，似乎有理。但邻舍来到，就察出实情。
He that is first in his own cause seemeth just； but his neighbour eth and searcheth him。
18：18掣签能止息争竞，也能解散强胜的人。
The lot causeth contentions to cease； and parteth between the mighty。
18：19弟兄结怨，劝他和好，比取坚固城还难。这样的争竞，如同坚寨的门闩。
A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city： and their contentions are like the bars of a castle。
18：20人口中所结的果子，必充满肚腹。他嘴所出的，必使他饱足。
A man's belly shall be satisfied with the fruit of his mouth； and with the increase of his lips shall he be filled。
18：21生死在舌头的权下。喜爱他的，必吃他所结的果子。
Death and life are in the power of the tongue： and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof。
18：22得着贤妻的，是得着好处，也是蒙了耶和华的恩惠。
Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing； and obtaineth favour of the LORD。
18：23贫穷人说哀求的话。富足人用威吓的话回答。
The poor useth intreaties； but the rich answereth roughly。
18：24滥交朋友的，自取败坏。但有一朋友，比弟兄更亲密。
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly： and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother。

19：1行为纯正的贫穷人，胜过乖谬愚妄的富足人。
Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity； than he that is perverse in his lips； and is a fool。
19：2心无知识的，乃为不善。脚步急快的难免犯罪。
Also； that the soul be without knowledge； it is not good； and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth。
19：3人的愚昧，倾败他的道。他的心也抱怨耶和华。
The foolishness of man perverteth his way： and his heart fretteth against the LORD。
19：4财物使朋友增多。但穷人朋友远离。
Wealth maketh many friends； but the poor is separated from his neighbour。
19：5作假见证的，必不免受罚。吐出谎言的，终不能逃脱。
A false witness shall not be unpunished； and he that speaketh lies shall not escape。
19：6好施散的，有多人求他的恩情。爱送礼的，人都为他的朋友。
Many will intreat the favour of the prince： and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts。
19：7贫穷人弟兄都恨他，何况他的朋友，更远离他。他用言语追随，他们却走了。
All the brethren of the poor do hate him： how much more do his friends go far from him？ he pursueth them with words； yet they are wanting to him。
19：8得着智慧的，爱惜生命，保守聪明的，必得好处。
He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul： he that keepeth understanding shall find good。
19：9作假见证的，不免受罚。吐出谎言的，也必灭亡。
A false witness shall not be unpunished； and he that speaketh lies shall perish。
19：10愚昧人宴乐度日，是不合宜的，何况仆人管辖王子呢。
Delight is not seemly for a fool； much less for a servant to have rule over princes。
19：11人有见识，就不轻易发怒。宽恕人的过失，便是自己的荣耀。
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger； and it is his glory to pass over a transgression。
19：12王的忿怒，好像狮子吼叫。他的恩典，却如草上的甘露。
The king's wrath is as the roaring of a lion； but his favour is as dew upon the grass。
19：13愚昧的儿子，是父亲的祸患。妻子的争吵，如雨连连滴漏。
A foolish son is the calamity of his father： and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping。
19：14房屋钱财。是祖宗所遗留的。惟有贤慧的妻，是耶和华所赐的。
House and riches are the inheritance of fathers： and a prudent wife is from the LORD。
19：15懒惰使人沉睡。懈怠的人，必受饥饿。
Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep； and an idle soul shall suffer hunger。
19：16谨守诫命的，保全生命。轻忽己路的，必致死亡。
He that keepeth the mandment keepeth his own soul； but he that despiseth his ways shall die。
19：17怜悯贫穷的，就是借给耶和华。他的善行，耶和华必偿还。
He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD； and that which he hath given will he pay him again。
19：18趁有指望，管教你的儿子。你的心不可任他死亡。
Chasten thy son while there is hope； and let not thy soul spare for his crying。
19：19暴怒的人，必受刑罚。你若救他，必须再救。
A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment： for if thou deliver him； yet thou must do it again。
19：20你要听劝教，受训诲，使你终久有智慧。
Hear counsel； and receive instruction； that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end。
19：21人心多有计谋。惟有耶和华的筹算，才能立定。
There are many devices in a man's heart； nevertheless the counsel of the LORD； that shall stand。
19：22施行仁慈的，令人爱慕。穷人强如说谎言的。
The desire of a man is his kindness： and a poor man is better than a liar。
19：23敬畏耶和华的，得着生命。他必恒久知足，不遭祸患。
The fear of the LORD tendeth to life： and he that hath it shall abide satisfied； he shall not be visited with evil。
19：24懒惰人放手在盘子里。就是向口撤回，他也不肯。
A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom； and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again。
19：25鞭打亵慢人，愚蒙人必长见识。责备明哲人，他就明白知识。
Smite a scorner； and the simple will beware： and reprove one that hath understanding； and he will understand knowledge。
19：26虐待父亲，撵出母亲的，是贻羞致辱之子。
He that wasteth his father； and chaseth away his mother； is a son that causeth shame； and bringeth reproach。
19：27我儿，不可听了教训，而又偏离知识的言语。
Cease； my son； to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge。
19：28匪徒作见证戏笑公平。恶人的口吞下罪孽。
An ungodly witness scorneth judgment： and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity。
19：29刑罚是为亵慢人豫备的。鞭打是为愚昧人的背豫备的。
